Lowfat Crockpot Split Pea Soup

Ingredients:


1 Package dried green split peas -- (16 ounce)

3 medium carrots sliced

2 Stalks celery diced

1/4 Cup fresh parsley chopped

1 piece bay leaf

1 teaspoon salt and pepper to taste

2 Cups ham trimmed of fat and diced

1 medium Onion chopped

3 Packages sugar substitute

2 Cloves garlic minced

6 Cups hot water
 

Preparation / Directions:


Wash peas and place in crockpot. Add remaining ingredients to crockpot. Do not stir. Cover and cook on HIGH 45 hours or on LOW 810 hours or until peas are very soft. Remove bay leaf. May be frozen.
