Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients:


1 cup soy sauce

4 tablespoons cornstarch mixed in 1 cup water

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup mirin -- (sweet rice wine),

1 teaspoon fresh ginger

1 clove garlic -- mashed
 

Preparation / Directions:


This makes enough for Sean and I for two dinners (freeze half). In a pan, combine soy sauce, water/cornstarch mixture, sugar, wine, ginger and garlic. Heat on medium high stirring frequently, until sauce thickens. Grill chicken and cut into bite size pieces. Serve chicken with sauce over a bowl of Japanese Sticky Rice (see recipe)
