Basic Long Grain Rice

Ingredients:


1 cup uncooked regular rice

3/4 Teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon butter

2 cup hot water
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine rice, salt, and butter in a deep 2 quart casserole. Stir in hot water. Cover with heavy duty plastic wrap and microwave at HIGH for 5 minutes. Stir well. Cover, reduce to MEDIUM (50% power); and microwave 14 to 16 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Let stand 2 to 4 minutes. Fluff rice with a fork.
