Mom's Basic Cream Pie

This is a Meringue, Cream Pie
 

Ingredients:


1 Cup Sugar

4 tablespoons Flour

3 large eggs, separated

2 Cups Milk

1 Dash Salt

1 teaspoon Vanilla Flavoring (to taste)

---Meringue:

3 large egg whites

1 dash salt

1 tablespoons sugar to taste

1 teaspoon Vanilla
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine ingredients, thicken slightly, pour into baked pie crust. Beat egg whites with dash salt until stiff, add sugar and vanilla. Place on top of pie and Brown. Variations: Lemon--add Zest and Juice of 2 Lemons Chocolate--add 1 Tbsp. or to taste of Cocoa Coconut--add 1/2 Cup to basic pie and a touch of Lemon Flavoring. Also add coconut on top of Meringue.
