Chess Pie with Corn Meal

Ingredients:


3 large eggs

1 1/2 Cups sugar

3 Tablespoons melted butter

1 Tablespoon plain white cornmeal

1/3 Cup buttermilk

1/2 Teaspoon salt

1 1/2 Teaspoons vanilla extract

1 crust unbaked 9-inch pie crust
 

Preparation / Directions:


Beat the eggs with a wire whisk. Add sugar, melted butter, cornmeal, buttermilk, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix the ingredients well and pour into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell. Bake in a preheated 375 oven on the bottom rack for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 and bake 20 minutes more.
