Spaghetti Alla Bolognese

Ingredients:


1/2 cup olive oil

2 cups onion

2 tablespoons garlic

1 pound ground round

1 cup tomato sauce

35 ounces italian tomato

4 cups dry white wine

3 cups water

3 piece bay leaf

1/2 teaspoon oregano

1/4 teaspoon basil

1/4 teaspoon sage

1/4 teaspoon thyme

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
 

Preparation / Directions:


heat the olive oil in a dutch oven, over a medium flame add the onions, heat and stir for 4-5 minutes add the garlic, heat and stir for 4-5 minutes, until the onions are golden add the ground meat, heat and stir until the pink disappears add the tomato paste, tomatoes, wine, and water break up the tomatoes with a spoon add the oregano, basil, sage, and thyme-mix well season with salt, pepper, and crushed red chiles bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes add the mushrooms and simmer another 15 minutes ladle sauce mixture over the cooked pasta garnish with grated parmesan cheese serve hot
