Ghaat (Maize Porridge)

Ingredients:


1/2 cup maize germ

2 cups water

1 teaspoon salt to taste

1 teaspoon ghee
 

Preparation / Directions:


Wash maize germ well. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring continuously, to avoid forming lumps. Cover loosely and cook on very low flame. Stir frequently and add more water if required. Takes about 25-30 minutes to cook well. Take off fire, add ghee, stir well well and serve with curds or hot milk and sugar.
