Hot Beef Dip

Ingredients:


1 pound ground round

2/3 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

4 cloves garlic

8 ounces tomato sauce

1/4 cup ketchup

1 teaspoon sugar

3/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon pepper

8 ounces light cream cheese -- softened

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 package baked tortilla chips reduced-fat crackers
 

Preparation / Directions:


In a large skillet, cook beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic until meat is browned. Drain. Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, sugar, oregano and pepper; simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in cheeses until melted. Transfer to a fondue pot or chafing dish; serve warm with tortilla chips or crackers. Serving Size: 3 tablespoons.
