Nut and Fruit Mix

Ingredients:


1 pound toasted almonds

1 pound toasted Brazil nuts

1 pound toasted cashew nuts

1/2 pound toasted pine nuts

1/2 pound mixed dried grapes (raisins)

1/4 cup Marsala -- sweet vermouth or fruit juice

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1/4 cup salted sunflower seeds

1/4 cup chopped dried fruit (apricots -- pears, apples, etc)

1 teaspoon salt and/or Worcestershire sauce to taste -- optional
 

Preparation / Directions:


Mix nuts together and set a side. In a saucepan, mix dried grapes (raisins)and wine (or fruit juice) together and bring to a boil. Immediately reduce heat and simmer until liquid has evaporated, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Combine mixture with remaining ingredients and mix well. If desired, add salt and/or Worcestershire sauce to taste.
