Mother-In-Law's Sauerkraut

Ingredients:


4 slices bacon -- diced

1 can sauerkraut - 1-lb. 11oz.

1 head cabbage -- chopped

1 large onion -- diced

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper
 

Preparation / Directions:


In small skillet, cook bacon, saving drippings. In slow-cooking pot, combine sauerkraut, cabbage, onion, butter, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour cooked bacon and drippings over all. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 5 hours.
