Chili Spiced Halibut Steaks

Ingredients:


1 1/2 pounds halibut steak -- 3/4 inch thick

2 medium limes

1/4 cup plain dry breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon black pepper
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Cut halibut steak lenghtwise and crosswise into 4 steaks; discard the bone. 2. Squeeze juice from 1 lime; place in pie plate. Cut remaining lime into wedges. 3. On waxed paper; mix bread crumbs, chili powder and salt. Dip halibut steaks into lime juice, then into bread crumb mixture to coat. 4. In 12 inch skillet over medium high heat; heat vegetable oil. Fry coated halibut steaks for about 8 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Flip once. 5. Remove halibut steaks to warm platter; garnish with lime wedges.
