Karuvepilai Yera (Deep Fried Prawns)

Ingredients:


1 kilogram prawns

10 grams ginger-garlic paste

10 grams chilli powder

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon salt to taste

2 Cup oil to deep fry.

---for the curry powder

50 grams dry curry leaves

5 grams urad dal

10 grams channa dal

10 grams toor dal

3 grams jeera

1 dash asfoetida

5 medium whole red chillies
 

Preparation / Directions:


De-vein, retain tail, clean, wash and drain the prawns. Marinate the prawns in ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, lime juice, salt and turmeric powder. Keep aside for at least an hour. Broil the ingredients for the powder and grind coarsely. Coat the prawns in the powder and deep fry in oil. Serve hot garnished with a lime wedge, onion rings and fried curry leaves.
