Fire And Ice Melon Bowl

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 medium hot banana pepper -- seeded and minced
1 medium serrano or jalapeno pepper -- seeded and minced
1/2 medium red bell pepper -- seeded and minced
1 cup fresh lime juice
8 bunch fresh mint leaves -- minced
1/2 cup the following per person:
1 medium cantaloupe
1 medium honeydew
1 medium watermelon balls -- other shapes
1 medium red bell pepper
1 bunch mint leaves

Preparation / Directions:

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, and boil until sugar is dissolved to make a sugar syrup. Remove from heat; let cool. Add chilies, red bell pepper, lime juice and minced mint. Mix well. Pour over chilled melon. Garnish with mint leaves and peppers. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
