2 pounds confectioners sugar
6 large egg whites -- (see note)
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Preparation / Directions:

In medium-size bowl, combine confectioners' sugar, egg whites, and cream of tartar. With electric mixer, beat until thick. Cover tightly with a damp towel while using to keep from drying out. Note: If frosting is to be eaten, use meringue powder and follow package instructions for Royal Frostin
