Cherry Tomatoes With Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce

|4 ounces crumbled blue cheese -- (about 1 cup)
|1 cup mayonnaise
|1/4 cup buttermilk
|2 tablespoons minced chives
|1 pint basket cherry tomatoes with stems
Preparation / Directions:
Mash half of blue cheese with 1/4 cup mayonnaise in a medium bowl until almost smooth.
Gradually mix in remaining mayonnaise and buttermilk.
Gently stir in remaining cheese and a but 1 tablespoon of chives. (Can be prepared a day ahead.
Cover sauce and remaining chives separately and chill.)
Spoon sauce into a small bowl.
Garnish with remaining chives.
Place on a large platter.
Surround with cherry tomatoes and serve.
