Baked Apples

4 medium green apples (crispy, tart, medium sized -
1 piece cinnamon -- broken and ground 8 cm stick
14 medium allspice berries -- ground the same way
1 milliliter grated nutmeg
100 grams brown sugar
45 grams butter (grate if cold)
1/2 medium juice of lemon
120 grams golden raisins
65 grams dried pitted prunes
100 grams chopped walnuts (or other nuts)

Preparation / Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 200 øC . Butter a deep baking dish that has a lid. 2. Core the apples but do not peel them. Arrange them in the dish. Cut apples to fit, if necessary. 3. Combine all remaining ingredients in bowl. Mix well (this is where grating the butter comes in handy). Stuff this mixture into the holes and spaces in and between the apples. 4. Bake covered at 200 øC for about 30 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream (spoon extra sauce over ice cream). Difficulty : easy. Precision : measure the spices.
