Ingredients:

2 tablespoons gram flour -- (besan)
1 teaspoon chile powder
1 tablespoon tamarind juice
1 medium green chile
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon black mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 dash asafetida
1/2 teaspoon salt
 

Preparation / Directions:

1. Mix gram flour in a quarter cup of water. Add chile powder, salt, yogurt, tamarind juice and cook. Stir until slightly thick. 2. Chop green chile finely. Add. Stir. 3. Fry mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asafetida. Add as seasoning. This chutney is a tasty accompaniment to idlis, dosas, chapati, etc.
