Toffee Peanut Bites

1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine -- softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
4 package chocolate-covered toffee bars -- chopped
1/4 cup unsalted peanuts

Preparation / Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat flour, butter or margarine, sugar, peanut butter, brown sugar, baking soda, vanilla extract, salt, and eggs until well mixed. 2. With wooden spoon, stir in chopped chocolate-covered toffee bars. 3. Shape dough into 3/4-inch balls. Place balls about 1 inch apart, on ungreased cookie sheets. Press a peanut half into top of each ball. 4. Bake cookies 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool. Store cooled cookies in tightly covered container.
