Western Almond Chicken

1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup mushroom
1/2 cup green bell pepper
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon 5 spice powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 1/2 cups cooked chicken
1/2 cup dry sherry
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup blanched almonds

Preparation / Directions:

heat butter in a large skillet, over a medium flame add mushrooms and bell peppers stir-fry for 5 minutes stir in flour and 5 spice powder add salt and pepper to taste add soy sauce, chicken, and sherry heat and stir until most of liquid has been absorbed add chicken broth and simmer for 10 minutes remove to serving bowl garnish with slivered almonds serve hot
