Mocha Angel Squares

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 cup butter -- softened
2 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 loaf angel food cake loaf -- (10 1/2-oz)
1 jar macadamia nuts -- (3.5-oz) chopped
1 quart vanilla ice cream
3/4 cup chocolate sauce -- (to 1)
3/4 cup caramel sauce -- (to 1)
 

Preparation / Directions:

Dissolve coffee granules in 2 teaspoons hot water. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add coffee, and beat until spreading consistency. Trim crust from cake. Cut cake into 6 squares. Spread frosting on top and sides of squares; roll in nuts. Top with ice cream, and drizzle with sauces. Variation: Substitute 3/4 cup chopped dry-roasted peanuts for macadamias, if desired.
