Banana Nut Bread

2 cups sifted flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 large eggs
1/4 cup sour milk
1 stick margarine melted and cooled

Preparation / Directions:

Mix flour, sugar, nuts, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg and set aside. Add eggs, milk, vanilla and margarine to the bananas. Add to the dry ingredients all at once. Mix well by hand; do not overmix. Pour mixture into two greased and floured, medium (2x7 1/2") loaf pans. Bake in 350 degree oven about 45 minutes, or until crust is dark brown.
