Ingredients:


3 cups self-rising flour

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 stick butter

2 tablespoons sugar

1 large egg -- beaten

3/4 cup milk
 

Preparation / Directions:


Combine the flour and salt; rub in the butter. Add sugar and mix to a light dough by adding the beaten egg, then the milk. Knead lightly on a floured board. When the dough is elastic, form it into a loaf. Prick it well with a fork. Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
