Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

2 tablespoons minced onion

1/4 cup green pepper -- chopped

8 ounces tomato sauce

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic salt -- (i always use powder!)

8 ounces buttermilk or country-style biscuits

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar or monterey jack cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1 large egg -- slightly beaten

Preparation / Directions:

Brown beef, onion and pepper. Drain. Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic salt. Simmer. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Pull each into 2 layers. Pres 10 pieces into bottom of 8" square pan. Mix 1/2 c. cheese, sour cream and egg well. Stir into meat mixture. Spoon over dough. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 375-degrees for 25 - 30 minutes. I am thinking of freezing the meat mixture in a ziplock with a separate ziplock attached with the grated cheese for the top. I will thaw and then assemble and bake.
