Ingredients:

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 whole shallot -- minced

2 cloves garlic minced

1 jar roasted red pepper -- (7 1/2 ounces) drained -- chopped

1/2 cup dry red wine

4 medium steaks -- (3/4 inch thick each) 6 ounce

Preparation / Directions:

Prepare barbecue (medium-high heat) or preheat broiler. Heat oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shallot and garlic and saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add red pepper and saute 3 minutes. Add wine and boil 2 minutes. Transfer mixture to processor. Puree until smooth. Season steaks with salt and pepper. Grill or broil to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium rare. Serve steaks with pepper sauce. The sauce in this recipe works well on any steak, so use whatever is your favorite.
