italian spinach or swiss chard pie, is a family recipe handed down from family to family, from the regions of Northern Italy.


2 bunches fresh swisschards red or green or spinach
2 packages philadelhia cream cheese
1/4 cup grate parmesan optional
1 large egg Or equal amt of egg substitute
1 large egg white
1 bunches fresh parsely
1 small chopped chive or small green onion
1 crust frozen pie crust ( top and bottom)
1 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation / Directions:

boil greens, drain- mix egg,cream cheese,onion and parsley grease pan-w/ olive oil, pref aluminum pan 10x14 or similar size roll 1 pie crust on floured board and line pan and size- spoon in mixture and cover top w/ rolled other crust, tuck top into sides and pinch closed brush on egg white and poke fork holes on top to allow air to escape bake in 350 degree oven and remove when golden brown, cool and cut in to brownie size squares. square
