Mini Corndog Appetizers

Ingredients:


1 Cup corn oil

60 skewers bamboo skewer

60 links cocktail wieners

2 tablespoons yellow cornmeal

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons shortening

3/4 cup milk

1 large egg

4 tablespoons onion
 

Preparation / Directions:


Heat oil in a dutch oven to 365 degrees dry frankfurters with a paper towel combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar, and salt cut in shortening to the size of a fine meal stir in milk, egg, and onions-mix well insert skewers, lengthwise, into cocktail wieners dip into batter, allowing excess to drip off place into hot oil, fry for 5-7 minutes, until lightly browned drain on paper towels serve hot
