3 tablespoons peanut oil
2 cups tiny fresh peas or
10 ounces frozen peas
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 large lettuce leaves -- shredded

Preparation / Directions:

1. Heat peanut oil in a skillet. 2. Add peas, onion, salt and pepper; cover and cook over medium heat 10 to 15 minutes. 3. Add lettuce. NOTE: Succulent and flavorful; Petits Pois a la Francaise are time-consuming to prepare by the classic method. This short-cut version will have more appeal for Americans.
