6 medium boiling potatoes unpeeled (1 1/2 pounds), cut into large pieces
6 cloves garlic peeled
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup margarine or butter softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Dash pepper

Preparation / Directions:

1. Place potatoes and garlic in 3-quart saucepan; add enough water (salted if desired) to cover. Cover and heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender; drain. Shake potatoes in saucepan over low heat to dry. 2. Mash potatoes and garlic in medium bowl until no lumps remain. Add milk in small amounts, beating after each addition (amount of milk needed to make potatoes smooth and fluffy depends on kind of potatoes used). 3. Add remaining ingredients. Beat vigorously until potatoes are light and fluffy.
