Herring Tid Bits On Toast

Preparation / Directions:

Clean and soak herring in cold water 24 hours, changin water 2 or 3 times. Remove skin and bones. Rinse and drain. Cut each half herring in pieces equal to the size of the toast, slice one or more hard boiled eggs and place on each square of buttered toast a piece of the herring with a slice of egg, adding pepper or mustard to taste.
