Mostaccioli Salad (Kelly's Pasta Salad)

1 pound mostaccioli noodles -- cooked and drained
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 tablespoon sweet basil -- dried
2 medium tomatoes -- chopped
1 cup red and/or green peppers -- chopped
2 medium cucumbers -- chopped
1/2 small red onion -- sliced

Preparation / Directions:

Mix dressing and stir extras into noodles before serving. Can eat right away, but best if it sits for a while. When getting ready to serve, check to make sure that seasonings are correct. Sometimes we like to double the dressing.
