Baked Purple Plum Pudding

Ingredients:


10 Medium purple prune plums -- up to 12

1/2 cup butter or margarine

1 cup sugar

6 large eggs

2 cups bread cubes -- 1/2 inch cubes

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1 pint whipped cream or ice cream -- (optional)
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Wash, pit, and coarsely chop plums to equal 2 cups. 2. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. 3. Stir in chopped plums, bread cubes, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. 4. Turn into greased 5- to 6-cup baking dish; bake in preheated 375 F. oven 35 to 40 minutes, or until center is set. 5. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
