Indiana Sugar Cream Pie

This recipe was given to me by my Grandmother. It is a quick and easy Custard Pie.
 

Ingredients:


1 crust Baked 9 inch Pie Crust

2 Cups Milk

2/3 Cup Sugar

1 Stick Margarine

4 tablespoons Corn Starch

1 Dash Salt

1 teaspoon Vanilla

1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg
 

Preparation / Directions:


In a sauce pan, mix 4 level Tbsp. of Cornstarch with 1/2 cup of milk. Stir until smooth. Add the rest of the milk, sugar, margarine and salt. Heat over MEDIUM heat, stiring constantly. When thick and starting to boil, remove from heat. Add vanilla and stir to mix well. Pour into a baked pie crust and sprinkle with Nutmeg. Put in a preheated over at 350 deg for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and let set until cool. Best if refrigerated for 2 hours or over night.
