Old-Fashioned Egg Custard Pie

Ingredients:


1/4 cup butter -- softened

2/3 cup sugar

2 large eggs

3 tablespoons all purpose flour

3/4 cup evaporated milk

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 crust unbaked 9 inch pastry shell
 

Preparation / Directions:


Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, and mix thoroughly. Stir in milk, 1/4 c. water, and vanilla. Pour custard mixture into pastry shell. Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 F, and bake an additional 15 minutes. Cool. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
