Microwave Apple Pie

Ingredients:


3/4 cup sugar

3 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

6 cups apples or peaches -- peeled and sliced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 crust pastry for 9-inch double-crust pie

1 tablespoon butter or margarine
 

Preparation / Directions:


1. Combine sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon; mix lightly with apples and lemon juice. (Lemon juice may be omitted for peaches.) 2. Pour into pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate; dot with butter. 3. Cover with top crust; seal edges and flute as desired. 4. Cut 5 to 6 slits on top of crust. 5. Microwave on High 8 minutes. 6. Place in 425 F. oven for 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Pear au Chocolate Pie (Variation) Follow above recipe but reduce sugar to 1/2 cup, cinnamon to 1/2 teaspoon and omit lemon juice. Sprinkle pear mixture with 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces before covering with crust.
