Blackberry Cobbler

Ingredients:


12 tablespoons unsalted butter -- cut into tablespoons

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk -- at room temperature

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3 cups fresh or frozen unsweetened blackberries -- thawed well drained
 

Preparation / Directions:


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the butter in the baking dish and put the dish in the oven to melt the butter. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and vanilla until combined. Remove the hot baking dish from the oven and immediately pour the batter into it. spoon the blackberries evenly over the batter. Return the hot dish to the oven and bake 40 to 45 minutes. Remove to a wire rack and cool. Serve warm or at room temperature.
