Cherry Nut Ice Cream

Ingredients:


1 1/4 cups heavy cream

1 3/4 cups half and half

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup juice of cherries

1/4 cup toasted pecans -- coarsely chopped

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1 dash salt

20 medium maraschino cherries -- quartered
 

Preparation / Directions:


Mix cream and half and half in bowl or pitcher. Add sugar, cherry juice, almond extract and salt and stir thoroughly. Chill well. Pour into ice cream maker. When mixture has almost reached desired consistency, add chilled cherries and nuts.
