Basil/Garlic Vinaigrette

2 cups tightly-packed basil leaves
2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon chopped red onion
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon salt -- to taste
1/2 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper -- to taste

Preparation / Directions:

Combine the basil leaves, vinegar, lime juice, garlic, onion, and honey in a blender and puree. With the motor running slowly add the oil until emulsified. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground pepper. May be prepared up to 1 day ahead and refrigerated. Bring up to room temperature before serving.
