Grandma Evelyn's Walnut Fudge

1/4 cup butter
1 package pudding mix -- (unknown flavor)
1/4 cup milk
1 3/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts

Preparation / Directions:

In saucepan, melt butter, stir in pudding, add the milk. Boil [here it has the number 1 followed by the "degree" symbol, the small circle... I'm not sure what this means... boil 1 minute? Anyone know??] Remove from heat, stir in sugar and nuts and vanilla, put on buttered pan and mark in squares, good. Makes 1 1/2 pound
