College Fudge Squares

1 cup flour -- sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
4 ounces chocolate
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup walnuts

Preparation / Directions:

Add baking powder and salt to flour; sift again. Add shortening to melted chocolate and mix well. Add sugar gradually to eggs while beating. Add chocolate mixture to this and blend well. Fold in flour mixture. Add milk, vanilla and nuts and mix well. Bake in greased 9 x 13 inch pan at 325 degrees for 35 minutes. These were favorites of my children. Osakis
