Banana Bread

Ingredients:

2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup mashed bananas
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon lemon juice or vinegar
1/2 cup chopped nuts -- if desired
 

Preparation / Directions:

Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, creaming well. Add eggs and bananas. Blend thoroughly. Combine mile and lemon juice or vinegar. Add dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Blend well after each addition (with electric mixer use low speed). Add nuts, if desired. Turn into a 9x5x3-inch pan, well greased on bottom. Bake in moderate 350 degree oven for 60 to 70 minutes.
