Apple Compote

3 medium eating apples -- uniform-size
3 cups sirup for stewed fruits

Preparation / Directions:

Wash, peel, core and quarter apples. Simmer in sirup until tender. Chill and serve. If desired, the apples may be sliced into rings before cooking. This compote is delicious if the sirup is flavored with cinnamon candy. Chopped ginger or cloves are also appropriate when added to sirup.
