4 pieces chicken drumsticks
1 cup water
1/4 cup diced celery
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 teaspoon chicken flavored gravy base
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
---lemon dumplings
1/3 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon snipped parsley
1/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Preparation / Directions:

Simmer drumsticks with water, celery, onion, gravy base, salt and pepper for 20 minutes or until chicken is tender. Blend flour with 1/2 cup cold water; stir into the broth. Cook and stir over medium heat until gravy thickens. Stir in vegetables. Dumplings: Combine dry ingredients. Combine the milk, parsley, lemon peel and lemon juice; stir into dry ingredients until just moistened. Drop batter in mounds atop the bubbling hot chicken mixture; cover and simmer 20 minutes.
