DATE NUT CAKE

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup butter
1 tablespoons sugar substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamom
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
2 Cup flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 Cup chopped dates
1 1/2 Cup unsweetened applesauce
1 Cup chopped nuts (opt)
 

Preparation / Directions:

Cream butter; add sugar substitute and vanilla, which have beaten together. Sift dry ingredients together, then add to butter mixture. Beat with electric mixer at medium speed for several minutes. Mix in dates, applesauce and nuts. Turn into well- greased and floured loaf pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for one hour. Cover with foil if cake is browing too quickly.
