6 cups cubed turnip
2 tablespoons butter
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash pepper
1 dash nutmeg
1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
2 tablespoons melted butter

Preparation / Directions:

1. Cook turnip until tender. Drain and mash. 2. Add butter and egg. Beat well. 3. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and seasoning. Stir into turnip. 4. Place in greased casserole. 5. Combine bread crumbs and butter. Sprinkle on top. Bake at 350 F for 25 min. Notes: We had this for Christmas dinner, 1998. Marion is James' Aunt made it and we heated it before serving dinner.
