Ingredients:


2 tablespoons Sugar

1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon

1 tortillas Wheat Flour tortilla -- see *

2 Cup Veg. oil -- (for frying)

1 tablespoon Butter -- melted

1 Cup vanilla ice cream

1 pint -Strawberries or peaches -- sliced

1 tablespoon Slivered almonds -- toasted
 

Preparation / Directions:


*Please note: Cornmeal tortillas CAN'T be substituted because they do not take on the texture of pastry when fried. Combine sugar and cinnamon and reserve. Heat oil in a skillet and fry tortilla on both sides until golden brown and puffy. Drain on a paper towel. Brush tortilla with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Top with ice cream and garnish with fruit and nut
