Lime And Garlic Granita

1 pint water
4 ounces sugar
3 cloves garlic -- quartered
1 1/4 cups freshly squeezed lime juice
medium a lime -- finely grated , rind of
1 piece lime peel -- to serve

Preparation / Directions:

Boil the water, sugar and garlic together for 5 minutes. Strain and cool. Stir in the lime juice and grated lime peel, and freeze, stirring from time to time, until granular but still slightly mushy. Decorate with twists of lime peel and serve with thin shortbread or langues de chat.
