3 large beaten eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Preparation / Directions:

Combine eggs, milk, sugar and vanilla. Beat until wellcombined but not foamy. Place 4 6-oz custard cups or a casserole dish in a larger pan. Pour the custard mixture into the cups or dish and sprinkle with nutmeg. Pour boiling water into the larger baking dish (bain marie) to a depth of 1 inch. Bake at 325 degrees for 30-45 minutes for cups and 50-60 minutes for larger dish. A knife inserted in the center will come out clean when done.
