Short Ribs Pacific Style

4 pounds beef short ribs -- 2-3 inchlenghts
1 medium Onion -- chopped
1 tablespoon butter
2/3 cup catsup
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Preparation / Directions:

Place beef ribs on a broiler pan and broil until well browned to remove excess fat. (This cam also be done in a MW). Transfer to crockpot. Saute onions in butter until limp amd golden. Pour in catsup, soy sauce, vinegar and brown sugar. Heat until blended. Pour over ribs. Cover and cook on low (200) 8 hours.
