Ingredients:

2 Cups self-rising corn meal
1 large egg
1 Tablespoon mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon buttermilk
3 Tablespoon oil for frying
 

Preparation / Directions:

Combine corn meal, egg, mayonnaise and salt in a mixing bowl. Slowly add buttermilk to make a stiff batter. Drop by spoonful into hot oil to fry. Remove hushpuppies when brown.
