Preparation / Directions:
Cream butter with sugar. Mix in flour. Pat mixture out on bottom and part way up the sides of an 8 inch square pan. (If a thinner cookie is desired, use larger pan.) Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until light brown. For the filling, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and brown sugar; blend in eggs; add apricots and walnuts. Stir in vanilla. Spread mixture over the baked layer. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into squares or bars.
